OAWA adds important Safe Sport requirements for all registered Coaches and Officials

IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION FOR COACHES:

As part of the OAWA’s commitment to Safe Sport, Ontario Wrestling will be adopting the following Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) requirements.

For more information on the WCL Requirements, click here to get the WCL information:  WCL Safe Sport.

All OAWA Coaches will require the following to register for 2020:

A valid Police Background Check within the last two years.  Please visit:  http://www.ontariowrestling.ca/oawa-police-checks for more details.

Coaches must complete the on-line Respect in Sport Training for Activity Leaders.  This is a great on-line education module.  The module takes about 90 minutes to complete - you can take it over multiple sessions if you prefer – log off and log back in later and the system holds your place for you.

You can access the training at this link:

wclactivity.respectgroupinc.com

Coaches please note that the OAWA is covering the $30.00 cost for Coaches to take this module if you complete your training by Dec. 31, 2019.  Clubs will be sent information for how to have their Coaches access this training at no cost.

Note:  for NCCP Certified Coaches, taking this module earns 5 PD points!

We will provide your club with the information you will need to register (Club Code).

All Coaches must familiarize themselves with the Coaching Association of Canada Rule of Two program.  Find out more by clicking this link:  Rule of Two or go to the CAC web site Responsible Coaching Section
